THUNDER BAY —Thunder Bay Police have charged a 17-year-old youth with the armed robbery of a resident of Court Street North.
Police say the incident occurred in the 500-block just before 2 a.m. Sunday.
Officers responding to a report of a weapons incident were told a teen had entered a residence while in possession of a firearm, and made demands for money from a male victim.
He then fled the home and disposed of the firearm.
Police later recovered the weapon and found it was a replica.
The youth and the victim were known to each other.
The 17-year-old, who was arrested within minutes after police arrived, is charged with robbery, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and failure to comply with an undertaking.
He appeared in bail court and was released with conditions for a future appearance date.
