CHAPPLE TOWNSHIP, Ont. – Police are investigating after apprehending three youth involved in a break and enter at a cabin in Chapple Township.

Officers with the Rainy River District detachment observed the youth breaking into a cabin in a wooded area on Friday while conducting patrols in the Boundary Lake Road area of the township, the OPP said in a statement.

Officers stopped the break and enter in progress and arrested the youth, finding them to be in possession of stolen property, police said. The youth were processed and released.

Anyone with seasonal property in the Boundary Lake Road area should make efforts to have it checked on and report any suspicious activity, police advised.

The OPP also reminded the public to secure their vehicles and belongings at all times, regardless of where they live.

“Increased lighting, securing all doors and windows and installing security systems are just a few ways to protect your family and property,” the force said.

Any person with information regarding the investigation is asked to contact the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122, or submit an anonymous tip at http://www.p3tips.com/273.
