THUNDER BAY – A 15-year-old boy is in custody after a 21-year-old woman told police her car had been stolen from her at knife-point.

Police say they responded to a call at about 4 p.m. on Thursday outside the Waverly Resource Library, after the victim had received a call from an acquaintance seeking a ride. Upon her arrival at the library the male suspect allegedly pulled out a knife and threatened her into giving up her car keys.

He then fled the area.

Police quickly located the vehicle and stopped the driver on Ontario Street near the intersection of Bay Street.

The suspect was quickly apprehended and faces charges of robbery, flight from police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and breach of probation.

The youngster, who cannot be named under terms of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was remanded into custody after appearing in court on Friday morning.
