Youths face charges after brief escape from custody

Police have located boys who escaped from custody while visiting the Creighton Youth Centre Monday evening. Thunder Bay Police Service officials say the two youths ran from staff at Oliver Road youth centre during a presentation there just after 8 p.

Police have located boys who escaped from custody while visiting the Creighton Youth Centre Monday evening.

Thunder Bay Police Service officials say the two youths ran from staff at Oliver Road youth centre during a presentation there just after 8 p.m.

The two boys were in custody at the McGuire Youth Centre, but escaped from authorities when leaving the Creighton Youth Centre where they attended a presentation.

Youth centre staff contacted police, and the two suspects were arrested at Lakehead University a short time later.

Both suspects are being  held in custody and were expected to make a court appearance Tuesday. They were charged with escaping lawful custody.

The identity of the suspects are being withheld in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
