THUNDER BAY -- ZZ Top won't be playing the Thunder Bay Community Auditorium in 2020.

That's the bad news.

The good news is that the band does intend to return to the city in 2021, a year after its scheduled May 5 concert date.

Promoters of ZZ Top's scheduled spring Canadian tour have rescheduled dates from coast to coast. The Thunder Bay concert will instead be held on May 5, 2021.

"In abundance of caution during this time, we are rescheduling the Canada leg of “A Celebration with ZZ Top," promoters said in a release.

"This was an extremely difficult decision for the band, but we feel it’s the responsible thing to do.  All previously purchased tickets will be honored at rescheduled shows.  Keep an eye on our website and socials and the venue websites for further information and updates."

The Auditorium says it will give full refunds to any cancelled or postponed shows they can't attend.

However, in response to the emergency alerts by the province of Ontario, the Community Auditorium box office is closed until further notice.

Those who have tickets to rescheduled or cancelled shows will be contacted as soon as the box office is able to resume its operations. Patrons are asked to keep their tickets until they are given further instruction from the box office staff.
