Thunder Bay’s Austin Adduono has been named the Superior International Junior Hockey League’s rookie of the year.
The high-scoring Wisconsin Wilderness forward, who leads all players with 31 goals and 68 points, beat out Sioux Lookout’s Jesse Wilkins and Dryden’s Alex Galbraith for the honour. Adduono is also tied for top spot with seven game-winning goals.
The youngster joins a list of former winners that includes OHL scoring star Kale Kerbashian, who won it with the Fort William North Stars in 2006-07.
