THUNDER BAY — The Bantam A Queens are taking part in this weekend’s Robins Tournament in the Peewee AA division.
The Queens opened the tournament against the Elks 82s who got off to a hot start notching two goals in the first to take a 2-0 lead. The Queens responded with a three goal outburst in the second period on a goal by Bria Filice and a pair by Brooklyn Etreni. The Elks would reply with a goal of their own as the team’s went into the final frame tied at three. In the third, Darbie Mattson would come up big, scoring and giving the Queens a 4-3 lead. Emma Albertson would sink an empty netter to cap off the 5-3 victory.
In their second game, the Westfort Rangers blanked the Queens by a score of 4-0, dropping the Queens record to 1-1, placing them 3rd in Pool B.
