The Winning Streak Charters bantam AA Queens have been crowned Ontario Women's Hockey Association provincial champions.

Thunder Bay captured the gold medal after defeating the Kanata Senators from Ottawa 2-1 in the title game Sunday at Canlan Ice Sports on the campus of York University in Toronto.

Azia Vass would put the Queens on top with an unassisted effort as she supplied the lone goal of the opening period.

Kanata would knot the contest before the middle frame was complete slipping a power play marker past goaltender Sydney Isbell.

Thunder Bay would supply the difference maker in the third period as Emily Oleksuk slide a cross-ice pass to Kaley Tienhaara who made no mistake in burying the game-winner.

Isbell did the rest keeping the Senators off the score sheet the rest of the way helping her side go on and earn the victory and provincial bragging rights.

Thunder Bay punched their ticket to the final after defeating the defending OWHA BAA champion Whitby Wolves 1-0 in semi-final action courtesy of the lone goal, which came off the stick of Bronwyn Bolduc assisted by Lily Vescio.

Shutting the door in net in that one was Sydney Horst who stood tall in posting the shutout.

This marks the first bantam AA provincial championship for the Winning Streak Charters Queens who wrapped up their very successful season by winning their last six tournaments.
