The Superior Collegiate Gryphons closed a hefty fourth-quarter gap, but couldn’t quite squeak past Hamilton’s Sir Allan MacNab Monday in their opener at the provincial boys basketball championship.
The Thunder Bay squad outscored their opponent 14-7 in the final frame, falling two points short in the 43-41 contest.
The Gryphons next take to the hard court on Monday afternoon against Guelph’s Our Lady of Lourdes at 4:30 p.m.
