Basketball Wolves jump to No. 3

It’s top 10 Tuesday and there are changes afoot for both Lakehead University’s men’s basketball and hockey teams.

The hockey squad, which swept Guelph last weekend, but were forced to a shootout on Friday and needed a wild comeback on Saturday, dropped a spot to No. 9 in the nation.

The basketball squad, on the other hand, buoyed by a pair of lopsided wins over traditional doormats Queens and RMC, jumped up one notch to the No. 3 slot.

The University of New Brunswick tops the hockey poll once again, followed by McGill, Saskatchewan, Western and Moncton.
Acadia was the big gainer of the week, jumping from 10th to seventh.

The basketball Wolves, who take on Toronto and Ryerson this weekend in their home court debut, moved up at the expense of Saskatchewan, off to a 1-2 start.

Carleton, due in Thunder Bay on Nov. 26, remains at No. 1.
