Beaudry improves to 2-1 at Canadian juniors

SHAWINIGAN, Que. – Hailey Beaudry made easy work of the Northwest Territories on Day 2 of the Canadian Junior Women’s Curling championship.

The Northern Ontario skip and Fort Frances native jumped in front 3-0 in the second end, then stole two more in the third to up her lead to five.

She put the game away in the fifth.

After Pearl Gillis got the Northwest Territories on board with a single in the fourth, the aggressive Beaudry slammed the door shut with a rare five-ender an went on to win 13-2 to improve to 2-1.

Beaudry is tied with Newfoundland and Labrador for third in Pool B behind undefeated Prince Edward Island and Ontario.

Team Northern Ontario will take on Newfoundland on Monday.
