The Fort William North Stars fell to the Oakville Blades Thursday in Day 3 of the Dudley Hewitt Cup action in Sault Ste. Marie.
The North Stars lost to the Blades 2-1. With a record of 3-0, Oakville’s victory over the Thunder Bay club puts them directly into the tournament’s finals.
Meanwhile, the North Stars are now holding onto a 1-2 record and will have to wait to see the results of a game between the Abitibi Eskimos and Soo Thunderbirds.
If the Eskimos win, the North Stars will face that team in the tournament’s semi-finals Friday. But Fort William’s fate isn’t so certain if the Thunderbirds down the Eskimos. That result would put three teams in a tie with records of 1-2.
