Thunder Bay native and former Border Cats starting pitcher Eric Brown has been drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays.
Brown, a right-handed pitcher who played for the Cats during their 2010 season, was selected by the Jays on the final day of the MLB draft. He went 1,519th overall in the 50th round of the draft.
Brown pitched 10 games for the Cats last season. He started eight times and finished the season with a 3-1 record. He held onto a 1.66 ERA, which was the best earned run average among the team’s starting pitchers.
He was named to the Northwoods League North Division All Start team and also pitched for Team Canada last summer in the World University Games in Japan.
