Bonot rink claims Canadian Mixed Curling Championship

YARMOUTH, N.S. –Trevor Bonot scored four in the fifth end on Saturday and his Port Arthur Curling Club foursome claimed the Canadian Mixed Curling Championship in Yarmouth N.S. with a 5-2 win over Team Manitoba.

The Thunder Bay skip, whose team included lead Megan Carr, second Kory Carr and third Jackie McCormick, finished the round robin at 8-2, tied for second behind an unbeaten Ontario team that ran the table at 10-0.

But Wayne Tuck’s rink was upset 4-2 in the semifinal round by Manitoba’s Braden Calvert, while Bonot’s Team Northern Ontario edged Saskatchewan’s Brady Ethan Scharback 5-4 in the other semifinal match.
