ST. CLOUD, MINN. -- The Thunder Bay Border Cats just couldn’t get the offence going against the St. Cloud Rox on Sunday night.
The Cats, looking to snap a two-game losing skid, only managed to score one run, loading the bases in with one out in the ninth, but only plating a single runner to drop a 2-1 road decision.
Yuji Suzuki was strong on the mound for Thunder Bay, allowing just seven hits in seven innings of work. But a two-run seventh earned him the loss.
Liam Bedford doubled to score the first St. Cloud win, Kyle Serrano plating Beford two batters later with a single.
Andrew Clemen pitched seven innings of four-hit ball to pick up the win. Brian Glowicki surrendered two hits and a run in the ninth, but still was credited with the save.
The Cats move north to Duluth to take on the Huskies on Monday.
