There are still a few weeks before the Thunder Bay Border Cats hit the field, but the team’s roster is starting to take shape.

On Tuesday the team added four more players, filling out their pitching corps with the signing of Matt Blackham, John Havird and Garrett Baugh.

Second baseman and outfielder Dylan Becker also joins the Border Cats fold.

Beckham, a sophomore at Johnson Community College in Overland Park, Kan., has split time between the starting rotation at the bullpen this season, and sports a 2-2 record and 1.30 ERA, with 42 strikeouts in just 27 innings pitched.

He also authored a seven-inning no-hitter and struck out 16 against Allen Community College.

Havird a lefty, plays at his hometown Mesa Community College in Arizona, where he’s 3-7 with a 2.98 ERA.

Baugh, on the other hand, pitches for Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville, where he’s 3-1 with a 6.94 ERA.

Becker, who hits left-handed, has three doubles and a homerun, with 15 RBI and a .245 batting average.

The Cats open their 11th season on May 29 in Willmar. Their home opener is scheduled for June 1 at 6:05 p.m. against the Stingers at Port Arthur Stadium.
