THUNDER BAY – The Thunder Bay Border Cats will hit the field at home to open the 2020 campaign, the team’s 18th in the Northwoods League.

The Cats will host the Eau Claire Express on May 26, the start of a four-game series to kick off the season.

The balanced 72-game schedule will see the Border Cats take on all nine other teams in the Great Plains Division eight times apiece.

The team has highlighted a number of other contests, including a pair of school-day games. The first is on Day 2 of the season, on May 27, against the Express. The second comes on June 10 versus the Bismarck Larks, a team that did not appear in Thunder Bay last season.

The Cats will also host a split doubleheader on July 14 against the LaCrosse Loggers, with game times scheduled for 12:35 p.m. and 7:05 p.m.

The team will also host a pair of post-game fireworks show, on June 30 against Bismarck and on Aug. 8, the penultimate game of the season, against St. Cloud.

The team is expected to announce its first signings this week and plans to announce special ticket packages in time for the holidays.
