Robert Bortuzzo is back in the Pittsburgh Penguins fold.
The 23-year-old Thunder Bay defenceman on Thursday inked a one-year, two-way deal to return to the Steel City, where last season he made his NHL debut.
Bortuzzo’s deal is worth $525,000 should he stick with the Penguins.
The former Fort William North Star played six scoreless games with Pittsburgh last season, a campaign spent mostly with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League.
Bortuzzo’s signing was one of four the team announced on Thursday. Defencemen Brian Strait and Alex Grant also agreed to one-year deals, as did forward Eric Tangradi.
