The Border Cats rallied for five runs over the final two innings to knock off the Beetles 10-6 in Alexandria.

The win brings the Cats to 9-7, which puts them within two games of the first place Beetles in the North Division.  The Cats remain tied in the second spot with Rochester.

Mossbarger went 2-2 with a run scored, while Cullen Mahoney added a homerun to his record for the third straight game. His long ball was a two-run shot in the third inning.

The second game, a vital one if the Cats want to get closer to the first-place position, takes place Tuesday night in Alexandria. The Cats will take on the first-place Beetles at 8:05 p.m.

Cats starting pitcher Joseph Koon (0-1) will take the mound. The right handed pitcher will be looking for his first win and a chance to improve his 4.50 ERA.

The Cats return to Port Arthur Stadium on Thursday for a two-game homes stands against the Beetles. That game, a double header, is scheduled to start at 5:35 p.m.
