But his seven-hit performance wasn’t enough to help his new club stop its latest losing streak, which hit four games Tuesday night in St. Cloud, courtesy of a 5-2 defeat.

Adam Martin and Luke Weber hit solo shots for the hometown Rox. Tyler Duplantis went deep for the seventh time for the Border Cats, one shy of the club record set by Dan Soukup in 2003.

Cory Kay had the Cats other RBI, a fifth-inning double that at the time tied the game 2-2.

Tim Colwell restored the St. Cloud lead for good in the bottom half of the fifth, singling home Blake Headley with the winning run.
Kyle Davis earned the win for St. Cloud.

The two teams meet again on Wednesday night at Joe Faber Field. Caleb Smith (1-1) is slated to go for Thunder Bay. Kyle Fischer (3-2) gets the nod for St. Cloud.
