Cats fall in 11 to Waterloo

Reliever Wes Parsons, one of two Border Cats heading to the Northwoods League all-star game, was tagged with just his second loss of the season when Thomas Lindauer singled to left in the 11th inningto score Connor Cline with the winning run, giving the Bucks an 8-7 win.

Catcher Danny Bethea was the hot hitter for the Cats (5-5), plating three runs on a 2-for-6 night. Paydon Cawley Lamb, Adam Landecker and Patrick Gallagher also had RBI.

Kellen Camus picked up the with for Waterloo (3-7). Border Cats starter Garrett Hughes was roughed up for seven runs in four innings, though his replacement Matt Cooper shone, allowing just one hit in four innings as the Cats climbed back into the contest.

The Border Cats are two games back of first-place Willmar in the Northwoods League’s North Division.

Thunder Bay travels to Duluth on Sunday for one game, returning to Port Arthur Stadium on Monday to start a two-game set against those same Huskies.
