The Border Cats will need a win Monday night if they want to avoid falling below the .500 mark.
The Cats hold a record of 6-6 following a 6-2 loss on the Road to the Duluth Huskies.
The Cats and Huskies held onto a 2-2 tie going into the seventh, but the Cats fell apart in that inning and the Huskies’ offence was able to take advantage.
Relief pitcher Lee Valencheck issued three straight walks to open the seventh, and all three runs were able to score before the inning was done. Valencheck was issued the loss as a result.
The Huskies and Cats now have identical 6-6 records as they head into the final game of the three game series. That game is scheduled to take place in Duluth at 8:05 p.m.
The game will be available live online.
