Better late than never for the Thunder Bay Border Cats.
The Northwoods League squad erupted for eight runs in the final two innings Monday night in Duluth, their 11-3 win over the host Huskies stopping a four-game slide in its tracks.
Jason Vosler was the offensive hero for the Cats, going 3-for-6 at the plate with two runs scored and a pair driven in.
Cory Kay was 3-for-5, crossing the plate three times, while newcomer Brad Burcoff, Dylan Becker and Dylan Goodwin each chipped in a pair of hits.
Caleb Smith went six strong to pick up his first win of the season for Thunder Bay, who learned that 2B Philip Lyons will rejoin the team in time for Tuesday’s return to Subway Field.
The Cats, who plan to send Chris Kerwood to the mound, will take on the Rochester Honkers. Game time is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
