The Thunder Bay Border Cats are desperately seeking host families for about 10 players this summer.

The Northwoods League baseball team is about 10 days away from the start of its ninth season, and players are expected to start arriving later this week.

In exchange for room and board, host families receive free season tickets, free admission to all NWL stadiums, discounts on Border Cats merchandise and invites to special family events during the course of the season.

Players are usually in the city about 40 days between June and the middle of August, with frequent road trips in between.

For more information, contact host family co-ordinators Evelyn and Gary Bakich at 345-9128.
