Cullen Mahoney and David Fallon scored three times and Brett Kay finally pulled himself over the Mendoza line with four hits and three RBI in the Border Cats 8-6 win over Rochester on the road Friday night.
Donnie White, who took over in relief after Taylor Bratton was rocked for four runs in three innings, picked up the win, with the loss going to Honkers starter D.J. Snelten, making just his third start of the summer.
The win helped second place Thunder Bay (8-5) keep pace with North Division leading Alexandria, who beat Willmar 8-5 on Friday. The Cats are a game out of first place, one up on Rochester (7-6).
