The Thunder Bay Chill improved to 2-0 on their current six-game road trip, beating the St. Louis Lions 1-0 on Monday.

Gustavo Oliveira scored the lone goal of the game for the defending Premier Development League finalists, who will travel to Denver overnight for a pair of games against the Heartland Division-leading Real Colorado Foxes.

The Chill and Foxes are scheduled for evening matches on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Oliveira’s goal came in the 21st minute on a pass from striker Brandon Swartzendruber. Cristiano Costa earned the shutout in net, making three saves.

The game was originally scheduled to be played on Sunday evening, but torrential rain and lightning forced it’s postponement.

The Chill (7-1) are in third place, six points behind Des Moines, their weekend opponent, with four games in hand.

Real Colorado tops all teams at 9-0-1.
