The Thunder Bay Chill are back in familiar territory, atop the Premier Development League’s Heartland Division.

The Chill capped a weekend sweep on Sunday, downing WSA Winnipeg 2-1, opening the 2013 season with a pair of wins.
Veteran Nolan Intermoia scored the winner in the 58th minute, giving Thunder Bay a 2-0 lead at the time. Defender Axel Sjoberg opened the scoring for the Chill in the 27th minute, heading home a Paul Dillon corner kick.

Dante Moses converted a penalty kick in the 75th minute to cut the Thunder Bay lead in half.

“I was much happier with the ball movement today” said Chill head coach Tony Colistro in a release.

“But we still have a lot of work to do before next weekend.  WSA challenged us this weekend so we fully earned our six points through hard work from all our players, but it was nice to get these two games out of the way, so that some of the new players got to experience play against a PDL opponent.”

The Chill play their home opener next Saturday against the Des Moines Menace.
