The United Soccer Leagues has announced the finalists for the 2011 PDL Honors, and several Chill names have made the list of nominees.
Awards for most valuable player, rookie of the year, defender of the year, coach of the year and goalkeeper of the year will be presented at an award ceremony in Bremerton, Washington Friday.
The Thunder Bay Chill Soccer Club’s head coach, Tony Colistro has been nominated for coach of the year, while Wilson Rodrigues Neto will represent the club in the defender of the year category.
The Chill and the Michigan Bucks are the only two football clubs with nominees in multiple categories. At three nominees, the bucks lead all teams in nominees.
Votes for the most valuable player, rookie of the year and coach of the year awards are submitted by PDL team management.
The rookie of the year finalists are determined by all-conference voting.
The defender of the year and goalkeeper of the year are chosen based on total
all-conference votes.
