Chill remain undefeated with victory over Springfield

THUNDER BAY – A first half goal from midfielder Dominic Roberts keeps the Thunder Bay Chill unbeaten in the early stages of the their campaign.

That 22nd minute goal was the difference maker as the Chill captured a 1-0 home victory over the Springfield Synergy at Tbaytel Field at Fort William Stadium on Friday night.

Thunder Bay improves to 2-0-1 on the campaign while the Synergy fall to 2-2-2. The Chill trail Springfield in the Heartland Division table by one point but have three games in hand.

Keeper Daniel Milton, making his first career Premier Development League regular season start picked up the clean sheet stymieing Springfield’s efforts to draw even.

Milton suffered a hard collision competing for a cross in the 76th minute and stayed down for a couple of minutes but remained on the pitch.

The two teams go at it again on Saturday with the match scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.
