Brandon Swartzendruber scored in the 40th minute, all the offense the Thunder Bay Chill needed Friday night to leapfrog Des Moines into second place in the Heartland Division.

And now they’ve got first place on their minds.

The Chill, who are 4-0-1 on their current six-game road trip, pulled to within a point of the Real Colorado Foxes with the 1-0 triumph.

A win in tomorrow’s rematch against the Menace will leave Thunder Bay in first place alone.

The Chill return home for games Tuesday and Wednesday against Winnipeg.
