ST. LOUIS, Miss. – The Thunder Bay Chill are going to need help if they want to return to the playoffs.
The Chill’s postseason dreams took a bit of a hit on the road Saturday, falling to the St. Louis Lions, the team they are battling for the division’s final playoff spot, by a 1-0 decision at the Tony Glavin Complex.
Lions forward Vadim Cojocov scored the lone goal in the match, striking in the 85th minute.
Thunder Bay (6-6-1) sits three points clear of the Lions for second place in the Heartland Division but St. Louis (4-3-3) has three games in hand.
The division leading Des Moines Menace have already locked up a playoff berth.
The Chill will close out the regular season on July 15 against St. Louis with the game played at the neutral site of Shattuck-St. Mary’s Academy in Fairbault, Minn.
