The Churchill Trojans made a valiant comeback attempt on Tuesday, but fell just short of a miracle at the Northern Bowl in Toronto.

The Churchill Trojans made a valiant comeback attempt on Tuesday, but fell just short of a miracle at the Northern Bowl in Toronto.

Cameron Claridge scored four second-half touchdowns, including a 90-yard kick return and a 105-yard passing play set up by quarterback Jared White, but the Trojans fell behind too far too early and dropped a 34-28 decision to Sault Ste. Marie’s Superior Heights Steelhawks.

Claridge finished the day with five receptions for 147 yards, while White passed for 219 yards.

The Trojans only managed 13 yards on the ground, compared to Superior’s 217.

Steve Hiiemma scored twice to lead the Steelhawks to the win.
