Defending champion Robert Cumming this weekend will be looking to add to the six career majors he’s captured over the years as the tournament golf season kicks into high gear with the season’s first major tournament.

Cumming will be seeking his third Keg District Open title in three seasons.
Meanwhile Barry Caland, crowned the player of the decade last fall, has an even more impressive number to chase: 12.

That’s how many majors Trevor Jones – also in the field this weekend – has won, the most all time.

Caland, who captured his record-tying sixth Strathcona Invitational in 2009, stands at 11.
The tournament begins Saturday at Strathcona and concludes Sunday at Whitewater.
