Hunter fired an opening round even-par 72 on Saturday at Fort William Country Club, earning him a one-shot lead over former Canadian Tour player Walter Keating Jr.

Robert Cumming, Robert Atatise, Robbie Untinen and Joe Scharf are two shots further back after shooting three-over 75s.

Rollie Turrie, Mark Willianen, John Shaw and Jamie Depiero round out the top 10.

Day 2 action is scheduled for Sunday at Whitewater Golf Course.

The final group is scheduled to tee off at 1:18 p.m.
