Goalie Mackenzie Blackwood was one of seven players sent back to junior on Wednesday by the New Jersey Devils.

The NHL team made the announcement Wednesday night, also returning defencemen Josh Jacobs, Ryan Rehill and Colton White and forward Brandon Baddock, Connor Chatham and Blake Speers to their respective clubs.

Blackwood will suit up for a third season with the Ontario Hockey League’s Barrie Colts. He was a second-round choice, 42nd overall, of the Devils in the most recent NHL Entry Draft. He posted a 33-14-2 record with Barrie last season, with a 3.09 goals against average.
