A rare double eagle has Robert Cumming and Dave Joubert on top after Day 1 of the 2011 Mallon’s Play It Again Sports Better Ball Championship.
Cumming used a four iron to hole his second shot at the par 5 11th hole at Chapples Golf Course on Saturday, paving the way for an opening round 61 and a three-shot lead over Barry Caland and Joe Scharf.
Andrew Scavarelli and Walter Keating Jr. are another shot back after shooting 65, tied with Murray Young and Steve Latta.
The final round is scheduled for Sunday at Strathcona Golf Course.
