Luke Judson and Keith Grondin also scored for Lakehead (4-1-1), while rookie Mike MacDonald and blue-liner Mike Quesnele picked up a pair of helpers.

All four Thunderwolves goals came on the power play, two in the second and two in the third.

It was new coach Mike Busniuk’s first win behind the bench, a solid all-around effort that saw the Wolves out-shoot Laurier (0-3-1) by a 35-24 count, edging them in all three periods.

Lakehead remains atop the OUA West, three points ahead of Waterloo (3-1-0), who roared back with three in the third on Saturday to defeat York 4-3.

Lakehead returns home for a date with archrival Western (2-2-0), who lost 5-4 on Saturday to Windsor.
