Brodie Biasiol’s goal with just three seconds remaining lifted the Nipigon Elks past the Screaming Eagles 4-3 in Thunder Bay Jr. B/Juvenile/AAA Hockey League action Friday evening at the Nipigon Community Centre.

The visitors would grab a two-goal lead after one period on markers by Kirk Meekis and Terrance Semple, who both notched their first tallies of the season.

The Elks would then get on the board 37 seconds into the middle frame as Chet Blanchette scored on the power play.

Travis Tom’s man advantage effort restored the Eagles two-tally cushion 8:12 into the period while Lucas Restoule answered that, eight minutes later, making it 3-2 following 40 minutes of play.

Ryan Begall would then knot the affair with less than five minutes remaining setting the stage for Biasiol’s late-game heroics.

Shots on goal favoured the Elks 45-31 with Thomas Gratz picking up the win. Curtis Barker suffered the hard-luck setback in his Eagles’ debut.

League play resumes Sunday night at 8 p.m. when the Eagles take on the Jr. B Stars at Delaney Arena.
