THUNDER BAY – The Thief River Falls Norskies looked anything but like an expansion team on Sunday afternoon.

The Norskies, still smarting from a loss the night before, rolled over the Thunder Bay North Stars in the matinee rematch a day later, downing their first-place opponent 6-1 to salvage a weekend split.

Connor Schuster had a goal and two assists for Thief River Falls, who scored six straight goals, three in the first and three in the third, before the North Stars finally broke Ryan Buttazzoni’s shutout bid wotj 47 seconds left in the final frame.

Jack Dunnell, Mitchell Soderberg, Blair Lindholm and Alec Daman also scored for the Norskies (3-4-1).

The North Stars (8-3-1) next play Wednesday night in Dryden.
