Falcons, Gryphons edge closer to provincials

Playing host to St. Ignatius in senior girls volleyball action, the host squad fell 3-1, dropping the first two games 25-15 and 25-16 before rebounding to win game three 25-22.

The Falcons will look to capture the two-game series on Saturday to earn a berth at provincials.

In the senior boys regional basketball final, Matti Paavilainen scored 13 points to lead Superior Collegiate to a narrow 38-36 win over Fort Frances.

Game 2 is scheduled for Saturday morning at 10 a.m. at Superior Collegiate.
