THUNDER BAY – Manager Mitch Feller is back for a second go-around with the Thunder Bay Border Cats.

The Northwoods League team on Thursday announced Feller had agreed to return to guide the team again in 2018, a season that saw the club start the season with a three-week road trip because of ongoing construction at Port Arthur Stadium.

The Cats finished 27-43 under Feller in 2017.

“It was quite the introduction to the Northwoods League this past summer for Coach Feller with all the issues but he did a great job and I feel learned a lot from the experience,” Cats general Manager Dan Grant said in a release.

“We feel he will build off that experience and help put together a competitive squad and lead Thunder Bay to a third league title.”

Feller said he’s excited at the opportunity.

The Thunder Bay community and Border Cats fans are second to none. The Border Cats organization is doing something special.” Feller said.

“It is a pleasure to work with Dan and I look forward to working with him again in 2018. We have been able to build a good foundation and will continue our mission to bring a championship to Thunder Bay."

The Border Cats home opener is June 2 versus the Mankato MoonDogs.
