WINDSOR, Ont. – Three shots in and the Lakehead Thunderwolves were already down 3-0.

It was just that kind of night.

The Windsor Lancer scored five times in the first on LU goaltenders Devin Green and Nic Renyard and cruised to an 8-2 home-ice win that saw the host team leapfrog their opponent into fifth place in the OUA West standings.

Ethan Skinner scored twice in the first and Ryan Shaw added a pair of goals and an assist for Windsor (10-9-1).

Connor Logan, Kyle Hope and Brennan Feasey, who also scored twice, had the other Lancers goals.

Jordan King and Cooper Leitch responded for LU.

Green allowed six goals on 17 shots to take the loss. Jonathan Reinhart made 30 saves for Windsor.

The Wolves (9-9-1) and Windsor will complete their two-game set on Saturday night.
