Flyers edge Stars in shootout

Larson also scored a pair of unanswered goals in the final 5:16 of regulation, tallies that ultimately sent the game to overtime.

Kyle Breukelman had a pair for the North Stars and one from Devon Fullum.

Blake Doaz cut a 2-0 North Stars lead in half at 13:12 of the first, with Breukelman scoring the lone goal of the second to stake the Stars to a 3-1 lead after 40 minutes.

Tyler Ampe made 33 saves to pick up the win for the Lakers (1-0-0), while Mikel Bilodeau made one more save, but took the loss for the Stars (0-1-0).

At Sioux Lookout, Jeremy Johnson scored twice and five other Wisconsin Wilderness players found the back of the net, as the defending champions rolled over the host Flyers 7-3. Chris Hoffman had a pair for Sioux Lookout.
