Former Olympian Katie Weatherston spent a portion of her holiday break passing along hockey insight to the next generation.
Weatherston, who was a member of Canada’s 2006 gold medal-winning women’s hockey team, ran a pair of skills sessions for local players at Port Arthur and Neebing arenas.
Weatherston will also be taking part in this weekend’s Rogers Hometown Hockey event in Thunder Bay, signing autographs and taking pictures with local fans from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday at the Rogers tent at Prince Arthur’s Landing.
Weatherston , 32, will also be taking part in a number of different events throughout the course of the day, including a VIP event at Bight Restaurant and the Cheer Like Never before contest.
