Fourth quarter failings cost Wolves women

Three Thunderwolves hit double figures, but it wasn’t enough to find the wind column on Saturday night.

Three Thunderwolves hit double figures, but it wasn’t enough to find the wind column on Saturday night.

Lindsay Druery topped all LU players with 14 points, while Carolyn Fragale snagged 11 and Kelsey Bardsley had 10, but a fourth-quarter collapse kept their losing streak alive.

Trinity Western out-scored the Wolves 25-7 in the final stanza and earned a 72-57 win at the University of Manitoba Women’s Basketball Invitational.

Holly Strom led all scorers with 21 points.

"After three quarters of our best basketball of the year we had a fouth quarter collapse,” Wolves coach Jon Kreiner.

“We turned the ball over the first six of seven possessions of the second half and multiple times in the fourth. On a positive, Lindsay Druery played a great game against one of the top post players in the country and we did a good job for 3 quarters against a very good team.”
