Fragale paces Wolves to easy win

Carolyn Fragale’s hot start to the season continued on Friday.

Carolyn Fragale’s hot start to the season continued on Friday.

Entering her final season of eligibility, Fragale netted 17 points at the Manitoba Bisons’ Shoot For the Cure Tournament, earning the Lakehead Thunderwolves a 69-47 pre-season win over the host squad.

Kelsey Bardsley had 10 for LU, while rookie Jessica de Haan was a force on defence, grabbing 10 boards and three steals.
Samantha Pyke topped Manitoba’s scorers with 10.

"Tonight we had a good start and finish to the game. Second and third quarters we fouled too much and didn't rebound well. When we move the ball we have great scoring opportunities. I'm happy with the energy we played with tonight but we must get ready for a very tough Olds College tomorrow,” Lakehead women’s basketball coach Jon Kreiner said in a release.
