Fullum wins it for Stars in shooutout

Chris Belhumeuer opened the scoring for the host Ice Dogs (23-21-6) at 6:05 of the second, then scored the equalizer with 28 seconds left in regulation and goalie Kim Wildhaber on the bench. Tyson Holder and Ryan Lobreau had the other Dryden goals in the 5-4 loss.

The North Stars (25-18-5) hit Sioux Lookout on Sunday on their way back to Thunder Bay, looking to build on their three-point, third-place cushion.

In other Superior International Junior Hockey League play Saturday, the Fort Frances Lakers (33-12-6) finally got the better of the first-place Wisconsin Wildernes (42-6-1)s, riding Tyler Ampe's 23-save performance to a 5-0 victory.

Jordan Christianson had a pair for the Lakhers, while SIJHL MVP candidate Byron Katapaytuk added three assists. Adam Wensley, Jon Carlson and Henry Gutierrez also scored.

At Sioux Lookout, the Flyers (23-25-2) raced out to a 5-0 lead over the Iron Range Ironheads (8-39-2), en route to a 7-2 win.

Chris Hoffman, also up for SIJHL MVP honours, netted a pair of goals and added two assists for the Flyers, who also got singles from Dane Morin, Tanner Duffney, James McQueston and Anthony Wolfe.

Shamus O'Neill and Austin Goldsmith replied for the Ironheads.
