Trevor Gamache continued his hot start to the season, scoring once and adding three helpers as the Lakehead Thunderwolves earned their first win of 2011-12 on Friday night.
Gamache, who has seven points in three games, collected a point on every Thunderwolves goal against the host Ottawa Gee-Gees, leading LU to a 4-2 triumph.
Adam Sergerie, moved to the top line in the absence of the injured Ryan McDonald, scored a pair of goals, while linemate Matt Caria had a goal and an assist.
With the win Lakehead improved to 1-2-0.
Alexandre Touchette and Matt White replied for the Gee-Gees (2-2-0).
The two teams will wrap up their weekend set on Saturday night. The game can be heard live on Rock 94.
