THUNDER BAY – The Thunder Bay Goldcorp midget A Queens are off to Fort Frances this weekend to compete in the first annual Scott Clendenning Memorial Showcase.
The five-team event will feature the Queens taking on four high school programs from northwestern Ontario.
Game action for Thunder Bay begins Friday at 12:15 p.m. as they meet the Dryden Eagles.
That will be a followed an 8:15 p.m. encounter with the host Fort Frances Muskies.
Two more tilts are also on the slate for the club Saturday starting with a 2:15 p.m. face-off vs. the Beaver Brae Broncos from Kenora.
Wrapping up play the Sioux Lookout Warriors will provide the opposition for the team’s final contest in Fort Frances at 6:15 p.m.
The Queens will also play a Thunder Bay Women’s Hockey Association Loop League game Sunday vs. Dryden, which will go at 1 p.m. at Eagle River Arena.
