Gryphons notch first win

The Superior Collegiate Gryphons won the battle of the winless on Monday. Chevon Turpin had seven points and Karlee Maki added six, as the Gryphons hammered the St. Patrick Saints 37-15 in senior girls basketball action.

Chevon Turpin had seven points and Karlee Maki added six, as the  Gryphons hammered the St. Patrick Saints 37-15 in senior girls basketball action.

The Gryphons improved to 1-4, while the Saints, who got five points from Lauren Zimak, fell to 0-5.

In junior girls basketball, Karlie Long had 16 points to propel St. Patrick past Superior 34-33. Caitlin Tarabocchia had 16 in a losing effort.

On the senior boys volleyball court, Cromarty edged Superior 2-1 and St. Patrick knocked off La Veredrye 2-1. In junior boys play, La Veredrye blanked St. Patrick 3-0.
